Instructor Leading Ballet Class June 2001

Hello, Welcome to Dance Lessons Brighton!

Yes, I realize that is an odd name for a website, but their is a reason for choosing this particular combination of words.

You see, when a someone in Brighton is looking for dance lessons, either for themselves or their kiddies, be it some salsa lessons, or beginners ballet lessons, there is a pretty good chance that you log into Google and search: Dance Lessons Brighton… or possibly Brighton Dance Lessons in order to find a local company that can give you what you want.

And…. I wanted you to find my website, because unlike others that may pop up in Google’s top 10, I do not own my own dance lessons company.

I’m definitely an impartial consumer, who has had some bad experiences in the past, and I wanted to save you the hassle of going through the elimination process that I did.

I believe its my duty to do so!

I started Dance Lessons Brighton because I really want to develop a site which will help my goddaughter, my niece and also my best friends daughter. They are all at the age now where they about to start being all cute and are ready to hit the dance floor!

One thing that I do notice when I type ‘Dance Lessons Brighton’ into Google is that dance lessons are not only for kids! I didn’t realize there was another whole world out there for adults. I am talking salsa, ballroom dancing, break dancing, Irish dancing, belly dancing and flamenco just to name a few. For now, I will just talk about the kids, but I will be looking into adult classes further on down the line. Be sure to check out my other posts, as I am sure by the time you are reading this I would have done the review.

So, continuing on…

It is my goal to review three places in Brighton where I can enroll the kids in dance lessons, and document how it all goes! I know nothing about dance lessons at all, so this should be interesting! From what I can tell, the most important thing is to make sure that the instructors pay a lot of attention to the kids, and I am hoping to rate the dance studios on this.

Before we get started, I wanted to share with you a cool website I found which detail how to find dance lessons for you child…. just follow this link: How to find a dance studio for your child. After all, I don’t want to appear biased or anything crazy like that.

Of course, there is also how much money these lessons costs per hour, whether or not we can get them a competitive monthly rate etc etc. I know paying for lessons is never going to be cheap, but I would at least want to get value for money – and I definitely don’t need pushy instructors in our face making sure we pay for a certain number of classes in advance. You know what I mean?

I don’t want the dance studios we visit to have the mantra ‘you need to pay us to ensure that your kid stays enrolled’. I mean, I know this is a competitive market, but there is no need for that! Apart from making me feel very uncomfortable, it also is just flat out rude in my eyes.

Most studios offer jazz and tap, hip hop, freestyle dancing, and of course ballet. Many offer hip-hop and modern dance and pretty much any other kind of dance your child may be interested in. So its my goal to find the best place to pick up good value dance lessons Brighton which involves all of these different styles. Check out my post on the different dance styles for more information by clicking here => dance styles in Brighton.

What I am looking for is possibly an ‘all in one’ dance lesson experience for the kids, where you can encompass an all in one type experience. I dont want to be paying for a lesson in ballet, and then a lesson in jazz and then a lesson in hip hop. I wanted a fee which would be all encompassing.

One thing to point out is that I don’t want to put the kids through a strict curriculum which will leave very little room to allow for them to focus on what they enjoy and are good at. I also want a place which will focus not only on beginners, but will also cater for the intermediate and advanced as the kids get better and better (ie I don’t want them to outgrow their colleagues and be hindered!). Of course I am not biased in anyway that they are going to be the best dancers out there! Lol…..

I really hope you will follow my progress, and along the way you will hopefully get a feel for the best Dance Lessons Brighton.

Before I go, I couldn’t resist this flash dance you tube video which shocked the hell out of Oprah Winfrey – I couldn’t believe it the first time I watched it!
